Middle School Curriculum
Fosters Growth & Independence
The Middle School curriculum is developed and implemented to foster growth and independence during a crucial time in a child’s development, early adolescence. Facilitated by highly skilled teachers who understand adolescents and are passionate about teaching the whole child, Middle School students develop leadership, citizenship, and organizational skills in a safe environment.
Middle School Schedule
Bullis operates on a trimester system: the first trimester ends at Thanksgiving, the second ends in early March and the third at the end of the school year in early June.
The Middle School students have a six-period day which includes:
- English
- World language
- Math
- Science
- Social studies
- Performing arts
- Visual arts
- Health & wellness
- Physical education
- Technology classes
Our research-based daily schedule builds athletics into the school day, four days per week, mainly through participation on interscholastic teams. The schedule also includes breaks to maximize learning and to prioritize Middle School community gathering time – assemblies, advisory, and independent reading blocks.
